Prize Picks Sites & Guide

Prize Picks is the exclusive Daily Free Game at Virgin Games. Each day you get six free picks on a 10×9 grid, where matching symbols award cash prizes from £1 up to £750, plus instant wins worth 10p to £10 on any tile. Most prizes are paid in cash with no wagering requirements.

It is effectively the same game that runs across every Virgin Games sister site on the Gamesys platform — same grid, same six picks, same prize tiers, same Monday-to-Sunday cycle — just with its own symbols. Over at Jackpotjoy it is called Balls of Joy, at Bally Bet it is Bally Daily Picks, and at Monopoly Casino it is Free Parking Picks.

If you remember playing Search for the Phoenix or Doubly Bubbly at Virgin Games, those days are over. Both games moved to Virgin Bet in 2025 when every Gamesys brand switched to its own exclusive Daily Free Game. Despite sharing the Virgin name, Virgin Bet is not a Virgin Games sister site — it sits under the LiveScore Group and still awards free spins rather than cash. Prize Picks is the cash-only replacement.

Prize Picks Guide

How Prize Picks Works

If you have played any Daily Free Game on Jackpotjoy, Bally Bet or Monopoly Casino, you already know the format. Prize Picks uses the same 10×9 grid and six-picks-per-day mechanic that runs across the entire Gamesys platform. The only thing Virgin Games changed is the symbols — Crowns, Prize Boxes, Dice and Bingo Balls instead of trophies or Monopoly tokens.

Each day between Monday 00:01 and Sunday 23:59 you open the grid and tap six tiles. Behind each one is either a miss (X), an instant-win icon paying 10p to £10 cash on the spot, or a collectible symbol. Bank enough of any single symbol type across the week and you unlock the corresponding cash prize. Miss a day and those picks are gone — no backdating.

One detail unique to Virgin Games: only one instant win can be awarded per day. On other sites there is no stated daily limit on instant wins.

Prize Picks Prize Table

Match enough of any single symbol during the Monday–Sunday game week to unlock the tier:

Prize Picks Weekly Prize Tiers
Symbols NeededSymbolPrize
10Crown£750
9Prize Box£250
8££20
7Dice£10
67£5
5Poker Chip£3
4Playing Cards£2
3Bingo Ball£1

Any tile can also reveal an instant-win icon paying 10p to £10 cash, though only one instant win can trigger per day. With 42 picks across a full week, completing the lower tiers is realistic for daily players — the £750 top prize requires finding all 10 Crowns out of 90 tiles.

VIP Picks — The Monthly Free Game

Every day you play Prize Picks earns one pick for Virgin Games VIP Picks, a monthly game on the last day of each calendar month. Between 00:01 and 23:59 on that final day, you pick from six envelopes for a chance to win cash prizes. No instant wins are available on the monthly game.

Unlike Jackpotjoy and Bally Bet, Virgin Games does not disclose a specific prize cap for VIP Picks. Bigger Balls of Joy at Jackpotjoy and Bally Bonus Picks at Bally Bet both confirm up to £100 per symbol. Bonus Parking Picks at Monopoly Casino caps at £10. Virgin Games simply states “real money cash prizes” without publishing an amount.

What Happened to Search for the Phoenix?

If you played Virgin Games before 2025, you probably remember Search for the Phoenix — the Secrets of the Phoenix-themed daily game that ran for years alongside Doubly Bubbly. Both games were removed from Virgin Games in 2025 when the site switched to Prize Picks as its exclusive Daily Free Game.

Search for the Phoenix and Doubly Bubbly still exist at Virgin Bet and LiveScore Bet, which sit under the LiveScore Group. Despite the shared Virgin branding, Virgin Bet is not a Virgin Games sister site — it was demerged from Gamesys in 2019. The key difference for players: those games award free spins on slots like Secrets of the Phoenix and Double Bubble, while Prize Picks at Virgin Games pays cash only.

Same Game Across the Network

Virgin Games is one of several Virgin Games sister sites that share the same operator, Gamesys Operations Limited, and the same UKGC licence. Each brand runs its own version of the Daily Free Game with identical mechanics — only the theme and monthly bonus differ:

JackpotjoyBalls of JoyBigger Balls of Joy£100 per symbol
Bally BetBally Daily PicksBally Bonus Picks£100 per symbol

Outside that group, Virgin Bet and LiveScore Bet still run Doubly Bubbly and Search for the Phoenix, which award free spins on Double Bubble and Secrets of the Phoenix slots rather than cash.

Playing Responsibly

Prize Picks costs nothing to play, but the daily login habit it creates is worth being aware of. If logging in each day for the free game regularly leads to spending on paid slots or bingo afterwards, that pattern is worth paying attention to.

  • Most prizes are real cash — treat winnings the same as a deposit when it comes to budgeting.
  • Set deposit limits and session time reminders on your Virgin Games account before they are needed, not after.
  • Missing a day costs you nothing. Backdated picks cannot be recovered, and that is not a reason to feel you have missed out.
  • Virgin Games offers deposit limits, cooling-off periods and self-exclusion through GAMSTOP. Use them whenever you need to.
