Founded in 1967 in Salford by Fred Done, Betfred is the World's largest independent bookmaker with over 1600 UK betting shops alongside their betting, casino and bingo websites.

Done Bookmakers was founded by Fred and Peter Done in 1967, and it was established as a single shop in Ordsall, Salford.
They funded Done Bookmakers shop with capital made thanks to a winning bet they placed on England to win on the 1966 World Cup.
In 1997 Done Bookmakers acquired the Robert Walker bookmaker chain taking their total of betting shops to a total of 100 shops and by 2000 the total amount of shops they owned nationwide had risen to 200 and in 2002 Done Bookmakers opened their first betting shop in the Greater London Area.
In 2004 Done Bookmakers was rebranded to what we know today as Betfred and in the same year, Betfred.com was established to offer customers sports betting, online casino, slot games, bingo, lotto, online poker, virtual sports as well as pool betting.
Over the years the brand has evolved with many more changes and improvements, and as of July 2017, Betfred operates over 1650 high-street bookies throughout the United Kingdom taking ownership of 322 shops due to the merger between Ladbrokes and Coral in October 2016. Betfred also operates 51 racecourses around the UK including Nottingham, Newmarket, Epsom and Cheltenham.

Based in Gibraltar, Betfred.com offers a wide range of digital product to the UK including Sports Book, Casino, Games, Poker, Bingo, Pools, Virtual, and Lottery across both online and mobile channels.
Betfred uses multiple software provider partners Playtech IGT, Playtech, G2-Gtech, and Ash Gaming, to deliver world-class integrated web and mobile games to all of their sites.
The majority of casino games are provided by Playtech with a regular release cycle of new game brands such as Gladiator and The Sopranos. Currently, they have over 200 slots titles including recognised brands such as Rainbow Riches, Cleopatra, Deal or No Deal, Monopoly, and Star Trek alongside traditional games such as roulette, blackjack and scratch-cards.
