This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar technologies Glitzy Bingo uses, why we use them, and how you can control them.
In short: we use only first-party cookies. The cookies listed in this policy are used only to run the Website safely or to remember a choice you have made. We set no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies and no third-party tracking cookies. We use limited, first-party server-side analytics without analytics cookies, as explained below. This policy explains exactly what is set, and how our consent banner works. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy and our Terms and Conditions.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, to keep you signed in, to remember your choices, and sometimes to track you across sites for advertising. Cookies can be "first-party" (set by the website you are visiting) or "third-party" (set by another organisation, such as an advertising or analytics company). Glitzy Bingo uses first-party cookies only.
Our Approach: First-Party and Essential Only
We have deliberately built Glitzy Bingo to use as few cookies as possible. Every cookie we set is a first-party cookie, set by us. Some are strictly necessary for the Website to work safely, while others remember a choice you have made, such as your cookie preference, analytics opt-out or request to stay signed in. We do not use cookies to advertise to you, to profile you, or to measure our audience.
We use the cookies listed below only where they are strictly necessary for the Website to work, or where they are needed to remember a choice you have made. We do not use non-essential cookies at present. We still show a cookie banner and give you granular controls, so that if we introduce non-essential cookies in future, they will only be set with your permission first.
The Cookies We Set
The following is the complete list of cookies our site can set. All are first-party and essential.
Session cookie. A standard session cookie that keeps the site working while you use it, including form submissions, security checks and sign-ins. It expires when you close your browser.
Cookie consent cookie. This remembers your choice from our cookie banner so we do not ask you again on every visit. It lasts for up to 365 days, and you can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer.
Analytics opt-out cookie. This preference cookie is set only if you choose to opt out of our privacy-friendly analytics by visiting any page with ?gz_optout=1 added to the address. It records your opt-out so we continue to honour it, and it lasts for up to one year.
Game "remember me" cookie. If you have a game account and tick "remember me" when you sign in to our Dauble game, we set a secure cookie so you stay signed in. It is cleared when you sign out. We do not set this unless you choose to be remembered.
Anti-abuse marker. A short-lived technical cookie used to rate-limit and protect against automated abuse, for example when consent choices are logged. It is not used to track you, and it expires within one hour.
That is the complete list. There are no other cookies on the site.
Our Consent Banner and Your Controls
When you first visit, we show a cookie banner. It is our own, built in-house, rather than a third-party consent tool. It works as follows:
Rejecting is the default. If you do nothing, or dismiss the banner, nothing non-essential is ever set. You never have to accept anything to use the site.
Granular choice. The banner includes categories for essential, analytics, marketing and functional technologies. At present, only essential and preference cookies are in use. The analytics, marketing and functional categories are empty and cannot enable any additional tracking. They are included so that, if we add non-essential technologies in future, we will ask for permission before setting them.
We honour browser privacy signals. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, our banner automatically rejects non-essential cookies on your behalf, without you having to do anything.
You can change your mind any time. Use the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer of any page to reopen the banner and update your choices.
We keep a record of consent choices on our own systems as evidence that we asked and honoured your preference. This record does not store your raw IP address; it stores a one-way hashed version, along with details such as the banner version, your category choices and any privacy signal your browser sent.
What We Do Not Use
To be completely clear, Glitzy Bingo does not use:
Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or any third-party analytics service. Advertising, ad-network or programmatic cookies of any kind. Social media pixels or embedded tracking. Email tracking pixels, open tracking or click tracking. Any third-party consent-management platform. Our advertising, where shown, is limited to directly-arranged static banners with no tracking attached.
How We Measure Visits
We do want to understand, in general terms, how many people visit and which pages are popular, so we can improve the site. We do this with our own first-party, self-hosted analytics that run on our server. The analytics do not use cookies, advertising identifiers or persistent cross-site tracking. They use a limited identifier that changes every day, so it is not used to follow visitors from one day to the next or across other websites. We use the resulting information to understand general trends, such as how many people visit and which pages are popular. If you would rather not be counted at all, you can opt out as described above, and we will set the opt-out cookie to remember that.
Affiliate Links
Glitzy Bingo is an affiliate website, but we do not set affiliate cookies ourselves. Our affiliate links are simply tagged outbound links. If you click one and go through to a third-party operator, that operator or their affiliate system may set cookies on their own website, under their own cookie and privacy policies, not ours.
Managing Cookies in Your Browser
As well as using our banner, you can control cookies through your web browser. Most browsers let you see stored cookies, delete them, and block some or all of them. You will find these controls in your browser's settings or help menu. Please note that if you block or delete essential cookies, parts of the site may not work as intended.
