Party Bingo This October — Happening in a Town Near You

✦ ✦ ✦

Party bingo has taken over the nation's nights out, and it's not hard to see why.

Happening in a Town Near You
Dabber in one hand, cocktail in the other? Party bingo's happening in a town near you, and this October it's gone full spooky season. Hallo…
Skip the Waffle — Find a Bingo Site →

It's the dabber and the cocktail, the drag queen and the disco, all rolled into one gloriously daft evening. If you've never been, you're in for a treat.

We pull the latest party bingo events in live from Skiddle, so you can always find a night near you. And being October, the spooky season's in full swing, so expect Halloween specials galore. But first, a word on what you're getting into.

What Is Party Bingo?

Wondering what party bingo actually is? It's traditional bingo reworked for a big modern night out: the same numbers and the same thrill of waiting for yours, but with DJs, drag hosts, cocktails and prizes built for a daft reveal. And there's a flavour to suit every crowd.

Bongo's Bingo is the one that started it all, the original rave-meets-bingo night with dance-offs, singalongs and famously silly prizes. Bada Bingo and Buff Bingo run along similar lines: big, loud nights that are far more party than game.

“the spooky season's in full swing, so expect Halloween bingo specials galore”

Drag bingo is exactly what it says: a fabulous drag queen running the show, all sass and singalongs, a staple of the hen-do and birthday scene. Bottomless brunch bingo pairs the game with free-flowing fizz and food, perfect for a daytime do that rolls into the evening.

Then there's the themed nights. Halloween bingo is everywhere this month, with fancy dress, spooky prizes and hosts done up as vampires and zombies.

Benidorm bingo brings the sunshine-holiday vibes indoors, and some go full homage, like the Benidorm Bingo Peep Show with Licky Vicky, a cheeky nod to Benidorm's legendary Sticky Vicky, all musical bingo and cheap drinks. And Old Skool bingo leans into the nostalgia, a nod to the prize-bingo days it grew out of.

Who's It For?

Just about everyone. It's cheap as chips compared with most nights out, takes two minutes to learn, and works a treat for a mixed group. A brilliant shout for a birthday, a hen do, a stag night, a work social or a student night out, with a game-show structure and a prize at the end, even if that prize is a giant inflatable unicorn. Grab your lot and get involved.

The Buzz Online Bingo Lost

Here's a thought, though. You don't hear of many people having a big bingo party night in anymore, do you? There was a buzz when online bingo first launched, everyone piling into the chat rooms, but it's lost that spark. The party's moved off the sofa and into the bars and clubs now, which is a bit of a shame, but it's never been a better excuse to get the group together and go out.

So Where's the Party At?

Some cities have thrown themselves into party bingo harder than others, earning a reputation as the real party capitals of the country. One in particular leaves all the others in the dust month after month, and you can probably guess which.

We've rounded up the top party bingo cities for October, with what to expect in each, over in part two. Have a read and find your perfect night out.

Party Bingo — The UK's Biggest Party Cities

✦ ✦ ✦

So you fancy a party bingo night out, but where's the best place to find one?

Some cities have embraced it far harder than others, so here are the UK's top party bingo capitals for October, and what you can expect in each.

The event numbers you'll see on each city change by the day, as fresh nights get added and the popular ones sell out. The running order, though? That rarely shifts much. One city sits proudly at the top, month after month. And with Halloween on the way, every city on this list is laying on spooky specials, so there's never been a better month to get involved.

Dancing on Tables and Daft Prizes

Make no mistake, these are not teetotal nights of quiet dabbing. Expect dancing on the tables, singing at the top of your lungs, and a crowd that's well up for it. The game's really just the excuse for the party. I've done a fair few myself over the years, drag bingo is our annual Christmas do at Das Kino in Nottingham, where the top prize is usually a loo roll. Says it all, really.

And the prizes? Gloriously random. A giant inflatable unicorn, a Henry Hoover, a bog roll, or something very rubber and very rude indeed. That last sort is a bit like what Foxy Bingo was nearly called, but that's a whole other story, have a read of our Foxy guide if you fancy a blush.

The big traditional operators are joining in too. Buzz Bingo runs an Oktoberfest night, though theirs is more of a classic bingo game with a theme bolted on, a stein and a real cash full house, rather than the full table-dancing carry-on. Different beast, same festive spirit.

Liverpool: The Undisputed Party Bingo Capital

No contest here. Liverpool runs away with it every month, and October's no different, this is the city that gave us Bongo's Bingo back in 2015, and the madness spread from there. Expect the lot: rave bingo, drag brunches, bottomless sessions and themed specials, most nights of the week. Scousers know how to throw a party. Have a look at the Liverpool party bingo events on now.

Manchester: Hot on Liverpool's Heels

Manchester takes a comfortable second, a party city through and through, with a big student scene, cheap midweek nights and full-on weekend blowouts. The Northern Quarter and the bigger clubs host everything from drag bingo to rave rounds and bottomless brunch. A younger, louder crowd, so if you're after high energy and a good dance after the last full house, have a browse of the Manchester party bingo events.

London: The Capital Does It Big

London rounds out the top three. What it lacks in Liverpool's volume it makes up for in variety and scale, the widest spread anywhere, from intimate drag bingo in Soho basement bars to huge headline shows in the big clubs. Spread right across the city, so there's usually something close to you, and the hosts tend to be top-drawer. Have a look at the London party bingo events.

Birmingham and Sheffield: The Midlands and Yorkshire Join In

Birmingham and Sheffield usually scrap it out for the next couple of spots, and both put on a cracking night. Birmingham leans towards drag brunches and big touring rave shows around Broad Street, while Sheffield's a bit more student and Old Skool, with a friendly, down-to-earth crowd. Both have taken to it like ducks to water, so have a browse of the Birmingham and Sheffield events.

Can't See Your City?

Don't fret if your town's not in the top five. Party bingo has spread to just about every corner of the country now, so there's a good chance there's a night on near you whatever city or town you're in. Have a click through and see what's happening in your neck of the woods, then grab your group and get yourselves booked in before the good ones go.
